Jesus Youth: Breakthrough
A one-day Out Reach Programme aimed at young adults aged 18-27, to foster a deep encounter with Christ.
Breakthrough is a dynamic, faith-based initiative organised by Jesus Youth, an international charismatic Catholic Youth Movement approved by the Holy See.
The one-day programme is aimed at young adults aged 18-27, to foster a deep encounter with Christ, empowering the youth to allow God’s grace to "break through" in their lives. Each Breakthrough program is designed to offer a transformative experience through worship, prayer, and fellowship, helping the youth deepen their personal relationship with Christ.
The first event was held in London, around 100 youth attended this programme, marking the start of a series of programs planned across England. In November, the second event was held at Bristol targeting South-West England and Wales, and the third Breakthrough will target youth from the Midlands region, on December 14th. The initiative will expand in the coming months to other regions like Manchester, Northampton, and Sheffield, bringing together young people to strengthen their faith in vibrant and engaging settings.
Following successful events in London and Bristol, we will be hosting our next Breakthrough event at St Barnabas Cathedral in Nottingham. Here are details about the event:
- This programme mainly targets university students from the Midlands, but we have seen youth from across the UK who walk in for the programmes based on social media posts. This programme is free for all the youth, including refreshments through the day and lunch. The event is being funded by donations from personal contacts.
- The programme will start at 9am, with registrations. Around 9:30am, we will start with welcome, ice-breaker games and then a short time of praise and worship. Followed by testimonies, an input about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and Adoration. There will be Adoration and Confession between 12:10pm to 1pm.
- After Adoration, we will be serving lunch.
- There will be stalls with Christian art and Christmas items and an exhibition on the Eucharist. There will also be a stall selling Catholic literature. The stall and exhibition will be open till 5:30pm.
We are excited to partner with St. Barnabas Cathedral and the Diocese of Nottingham for Breakthrough in the Midlands, inspiring and empowering the next generation of Catholics.
